We All Know Someone - Charity Ride
Updated: Jun 7
For Immediate Release:
The first annual 'We All Know Someone' Cancer Research Fundraiser Ride. ____________________________________________
In 2020 it had been stated that, an estimated 1,806,590 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 606,520 people will die from the disease.
In late June of 2021 Jimmy Davis aka "Senior Speed" will leave from Southern California to arrive at the headquarters of the American Cancer Society located in Atlanta Georgia. He will livestream his departure. It is his desire to raise donated funds from all who are willing to give, in order to aid in the continued research, treatment and prevention of this horrendous and deadly disease that affects each and every one of us in some way or another. The donation goal for this ride is $100,000.00
Jimmy's wife, Demetra has battled cancer three times. The first diagnosis for her was in 1997 again in 2006 with the third time being in 2014. In each case, she has defied all medical survival odds. She has been victorious in each of her battles with cancer and she attributes her victories to God's divine providence to include those results that have come from cancer research and the proper cancer treatments. When asked about his wife's bouts with cancer, Jimmy states; "...As much as I wanted to take my wife's cancer away from her and fight those battles for her, I simply couldn't. She had to battle alone."
And so, Senior Speed will embark on a 2,300 plus mile journey - alone - that will end at the front doors of the headquarters of the American Cancer Society building in Atlanta, Georgia. His plan is to arrive on the morning of July 10, 2021. During his journey Senior Speed will be streaming live updates - twice a day until reaching his destination. He is asking for the help of others who will partner with him through monetary donations. The donations to the American Cancer Society will not start until 24 hours before the trip is underway.
Updates to the start date will be published through additional press releases.
With everyone's combined efforts; donating for the miles he rides between California and Georgia, in the end all involved can say that they've contributed to making remarkable differences in the lives of those who have been diagnosed with cancer; because we all know someone who has battled with this disease.
